Disruptive Innovation. Doctor Shortage = The Rise of Telemedicine.

Standard

California faces a shortage of doctors in the future. This means that there will be communities that will be in need of medical coverage.

I would predict that the greatest need will be in lower-income communities and more suburban communities.

We may need:
– telemedicine
– to open our medical license systems to remove “borders” so that people may tap into the medical capital available in Latin America and around the world.
– video enabled websites that allow people to connect to “doctors without borders”
– home diagnosis (telereporting) tools to feed data to doctors in remote locations
